Some elementary quantum texts can give an unwarranted mystical spin to configuration and phase space. I have seen it stated the the wave function waves in configuration space, which is just silly; configuration space isn't physical. Same with Hilbert space, That is just multiple copies of the complex numbers with an inner product. In other words it's like numbers in spite of the word 'space'.
