It is not easy preserving one's composure when the first words of "rebuttal" from one's opponent is "you're full of BS".

Funny isn't it? Well even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Well, one of the reasons I post here and read various messages is that I don't believe in string theory. I am convinced that the whole premise of vibrating strings is a flawed interpretation of e = hf, but that's another story for some other time.

I am however convinced of the validity of nonlocality and of John Bell's inequality theorem. To me, nonlocal phenomena are proof positive that space and especially spacetime are illusions of perception. In other words, there is no physical space or distance. There is no law in physics that requires that, in order for things to exist, they must exist in another thing called space. That would be hopelessly circular because, if that were true, where then is space itself? Space and distance are abstract manifestations of (in the words of the immortal Gottfried Leibniz) "the nature of the order of things". IOW, things are ordered according to their intrinsic properties.

I believe that there exists only particles, their properties and their interactions. Everything else is either abstract or voodoo. Even position is a variable intrinsic property of particles in this scheme. The moment one postulates that things must have extent (size), one comes face to face with an infinite regress dilemma. I abhor infinite regress. So all the dilemmas and impossible paradoxes associated with the size of the universe disappear in my world view.

The universe is ONE as its name implies. Nonlocality stems from this ONENESS, i.e., from the necessity to maintain what I call the Mother of all conservation principles: all substances must amount to nothing. This is because the only ontology of substance that does not lead to an infinite regress, is one in which all things are postulated to come from nothing.

Sorry about jumping into a philosophical rant. But the above is part of my rationale for the existence of nonlocal phenomena. Since I believe that position is an intrinsic property of particles, there is no reason, in my mind, that a technology cannot be developed that will allow us to instantly move objects (and people) from anywhere to anywhere in the universe without going through intermediate positions. Heck, unless we develop this technology, we (humanity) are doomed because we are fast exhausting the natural resources of our world. And we certainly are not going to colonize the solar system with our primitive chemical rockets, even if we could move at the speed of light. We need a revolution in our fundamnetal understanding of motion, inertia and gravity. All this time-travel crackpottery from famous gurus is only slowing us down. It's a monkey wrench in the works causing a lot of bright young researchers to waste time chasing after a red herring.
