Even if spacetime allowed time loops, it makes no difference. There is still no time travel. Why? Because nothing can move in spacetime. This is well-known by a sizable faction within the physics community, although most recent graduates will be amazed to hear it. Spacetime is an abstract mathematical construct, a static map of events, that is all. It does not exist physically. To move in time, a time dimension would need to exist but it can be easily shown that a time dimension forbids motion.

Nothing can move in a wormhole for the same reason that nothing can move in spacetime. It's rather simple.

If you parameterize a world-line using evolution parameter t thus (t,x(t),y(t),z(t)) then the 4-velocity is this: 1,dx/dt,dy/dt,dz/dt)

What this gives you is a velocity for the time axis of 1, a dimensionless and meaningless number. That's the reason why there is no motion in spacetime. It's that simple.

The more mundane proof is that motion in time is plain logically circular, in any direction. This is because it takes time to move a certain distance x such that v = x/t. Now if you are moving over a time axis t, the velocity equation becomes v = t/t = 1. Again it's meaningless. Have fun.
