Actually, Differential Equations and Calculus are entirely different subjects. The link you provided is on the derrivative, a foundational concept in calculus. DE involves manipulating unknown functions using the differential and integral - a step beyond calculus.

I have dabbled in a little of Differential Equations, but not enough to understand half of the physics out there that use them.
