Thank you kx21, I am suitably humbled.

As you didn't define 'symmetric' (you wrote "the symmetric function" (my emphasis); sorry, there's always more than one), I took the liberty of assuming you meant:
at time x, the CMB temperature T is:
T = e + (e - {formula value at x})

If that's so, then your post suggests that the CMB temperature at

~2.5b years after the BB was ~2.75oK (cf 6 to 14oK)

and at 380k years after BB* ~4.4oK (cf, well I'm sure you already know, but well over 10k oK).

Assuming of course that 'now' is x ~200 (per your chart).

*when baryon-photon decoupling took place; a.k.a surface of last scattering.

Of course, if you just modify the formula a teesy bit ...
{hint: a factor of 2epp does wonders!}
